About me

My name is Adele Darbyshire. I know what it’s like to juggle. A few years ago, I was juggling a demanding job, young family, a never-ending to-do list, and a mind that just wouldn’t switch off.
When I was working in a high-pressure corporate role in Manchester’s financial services sector, I was also deep into my 500-hour yoga teacher training with the British Wheel of Yoga. That’s when I realised something powerful: yoga wasn’t just a way to stretch — it was a life support system.

I started using yoga not just on the mat, but off the mat — to help manage stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and the constant pressure I put on myself, to “do it all” and to “do it all perfectly”. I began blending ancient and traditional practices like steady movement, breathwork, and meditation with practical tools like improving my time management, prioritising better, setting healthier boundaries and speaking up for myself more.

The shift it created in my own physical and mental wellbeing was profound — and it’s exactly what I now love helping other busy, overwhelmed women discover for themselves.

I always knew that yoga was something special ...

I always knew yoga was something special from the very first time I stepped onto a mat — but studying the Svastha Yoga Therapy system took that belief to a whole new level.

If you’re looking for a fast-paced fitness class with a yoga label, my approach probably isn’t what you’re after. I teach yoga in a way that honours its roots — not just as a physical discipline, but as a whole-life practice for healing, resilience, and inner transformation.

With over 800 hours of specialist training, my sessions weave together asana (postures), breathwork, philosophy, chanting, meditation, and mindfulness. Whether in group classes, 1:1 sessions, workshops or courses, I offer a space where you can slow down, reconnect, and begin to take your practice off the mat — into the rest of your day and life.
With a nearly 30-year background in the financial services sector, a personal journey through high-functioning anxiety, and over a decade of experience teaching therapeutic yoga, I bring a unique perspective.

I know exactly how it feels to live under constant pressure — and I also know the power of combining ancient yogic tools with modern, practical strategies to support mental and physical wellbeing.
Yoga isn’t something I do once a week — it’s something I live.
It’s a way of being that continues to support me through all of life’s ups and downs, and I’m passionate about helping others discover this too. Because when you truly understand what yoga is, it becomes more than just movement — it becomes a meaningful, empowering way to live.

Outside of teaching yoga, I’m a nature-lover at heart. I live with my gorgeous dog Stormzy — a black GSP-Labrador cross who brings endless joy, cuddles, and muddy-pawed adventures into my life. We head out for walks together every day, and I always feel most at peace when I’m surrounded by trees, birdsong, and open skies.
I’m often told I have a calm, kind, and sensitive energy — and I try to bring that same warmth into every session I teach. I genuinely love helping others feel more connected, more empowered, and more at ease in themselves.
Yoga is an ancient discipline that has evolved over thousands of years and promotes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing
