Therapeutic yoga one to one sessions

Working one to one is the best way to get results.

Yoga, although often taught in a group setting, is best done on an individual basis. Targeting specific practices and tools to you as an individual with specific needs and pain points.

Therapeutic yoga offers a unique approach to wellbeing, as it is person-centred and does not separate the mind, the body and the breath, but instead includes all these things in the treatment plan, and more.

Therapeutic yoga treats you as a whole person. When we experience suffering — or dukkha, as it is known in Sanskrit - it doesn’t just affect one part of us. Your body, breath, emotions, energy, and mind are always working together to create your moment-to-moment experience. So, when working with a problem or imbalance, it’s important to take a "whole-istic" approach to achieve the best results.

This way of working is not commonly available elsewhere. Often, in modern systems of healing, the mind is treated, or the body is treated, but not both together. Take anxiety, for example: talking therapies are often used/recommended – which is great and often helpful, but doesn’t consider the tension or tightness the person may be experiencing in their body when they feel anxious or the shallow breathing that creates a feedback loop back to the brain to keep them in the fight or flight response.

Therapeutic yoga is an excellent system for helping reduce or support almost any pain you might be experiencing, whether that be physical or mental. My speciality is working with busy professionals who are struggling physically and mentally due to overwhelm, stress, and anxiety, and who are either feeling burnt out or recovering from burnout.

How it works

I will ask you to fill in a questionnaire before our time together, asking about your lifestyle and for some information about what it is you are struggling with. This saves time in our first session gathering information, so the more you can provide up front, the better.

We will then spend a little bit of time talking it through, but please be aware that this way of working is not just talking therapy, so I will be getting you to do some gentle movement and to get out of your head and into your body.

We will use a wide variety of holistic and coaching tools to help rebalance any imbalances in your lifestyle, body, and mind. This may include physical movement, breathwork, mantras/affirmations, and potentially suggestions for small changes to diet and lifestyle. This is all tailored to you as an individual with specific and unique imbalances, life circumstances, constitution and needs.

I will give you some homework to practice between our sessions. But don’t worry, we will work together to ensure it is achievable for you.
I recommend having at least four sessions. You might find you need a few more, but not always. My goal is to empower you with the tools that you need to maintain the positive changes you will see starting to happen long term.

You could take your sessions weekly or every other week. We can work out what is best for you when we have our first session.

You can do your sessions in person - if you are local to me (in Bolton), or via Zoom.

Investment
£65.00 per 60 minute session (please note - a minimum 3 month commitment is required - to ensure we have enough time together to achieve a good level of transformation.)

Or you could choose to join my weekly Vitality vault at just £15.00 a week. We get together each week for just 20 mins (on Zoom) so you can tell me what you are struggling with, and I will take all of the overwhelm out of your wellbeing journey by choosing tailored practices for you to do the following week. You get accountability and professional guidance each week. A personal mentor in your back pocket, always there to cheer you on and tweak your practice so it works for you.

Yoga is an ancient discipline that has evolved over thousands of years and promotes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
